Express Thanks for these Truths about Prayer

In prayer, we communicate with God and He communicates with us. Pray that you will be strengthened in your prayer life and motivated to continue intercession for our nation, our military, and that we will have godly leaders.

November

May the Lord direct your hearts into God's love and Christ's perseverance.

II Thessalonians 3:5

I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and     holiness.

I Timothy 2:1-4

I thank God, whom I serve, as my forefathers did, with a clear conscience, as night and day I         constantly remember you in my prayers.

II Timothy 1:3

Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good.

―Titus 3:1

If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.

James 1:5

James 5:16

Submit yourselves for the Lord’s sake to every authority instituted among men: whether to the king, as the supreme authority, or to governors, who are sent by him to punish those who do wrong and to commend those who do right.

―1 Peter 2:13-14

Whoever would love life and see good days must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from deceitful speech. He must turn from evil and do good; he must seek peace and pursue it. For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.

I Peter 3:10-12

The end of all things is near. Therefore be clear minded and self-controlled so that you can pray.

I Peter 4:7

Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from him anything we ask, because we obey his commands and do what pleases him.

I John 3:21-22

This is the assurance we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, he hears us. And if we know that He hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of Him.

I John 5:14-15

And when he had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb.  Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.

Revelation 5:8

"When you come to the land which the Lord your God is giving you,

        and possess it and dwell in it, and say,

        'I will set a king over me like all the nations that are around me,'

"you shall surely set a king over you whom the Lord your God chooses;

        one from among your brethren you shall set as king over you;

        you may not set a foreigner over you, who is not your brother.

"But he shall not multiply horses for himself,

        nor cause the people to return to Egypt to multiply horses,

        for the Lord has said to you, `You shall not return that way again.'

"Neither shall he multiply wives for himself, lest his heart turn away;

        nor shall he greatly multiply silver and gold for himself.

"Also it shall be, when he sits on the throne of his kingdom,

        that he shall write for himself a copy of this law in a book,

        from the one before the priests, the Levites.

"And it shall be with him, and he shall read it all the days of his life,

        that he may learn to fear the Lord his God

        and be careful to observe all the words of this law and these statutes,

"that his heart may not be lifted above his brethren,

        that he may not turn aside from the commandment to the right hand

or to the left, and that he may prolong his days in his kingdom,

        he and his children in the midst of Israel .

―Deuteronomy 17:14-20
